The exterior of the car was professionaly restored in 1997
by Bodycraft of Surbiton and the car is used on their
website as an advertisement for the quality of their
work(click on Ford GB on the left, then Granada on the right).
The car has always been garaged during my ownership, and is rust free.
However since restoration, it has acquired some minor damage. The drivers door swung open when I was pushing the car out of the garage one day,
bending the top and bottom corners of the door. There is a small dent on the top of the drivers side front wing. There are a couple of scratches on
the passenger side rear wing. All of which can be seen in the accompanying photographs.
The interior is original, and in average condition.
A new stainless steel exhaust system was fitted in 1998. At around the same time, the car received a major brake overhaul, including new master
cylinder, differential valve, rear brake cylinders and flexible hoses, and new brake linings on all wheels.
I have owned this car since 1992,
at which time it had done 68,000 miles and now stand at 79,000. After restoration, I used the care for a year and since then it has been stored,
unused, in my garage for the past 10 years. During this time the engine has been run periodically.
Known Issues
After completing the brake overhaul I failed completely bleed the air from the system so the pedal is a bit soft.
There is an electrical short somewhere so the battery doesn't hold its charge for more than a few days, despite a brand new battery
being fitted in August 2010 This might be connected with the fact that the interior clock stopped working
3 of the tyres have slow leaks and go flat over about 2 weeks.
Otherwise the car is in excellent condition and would probably require little work to get it through an MOT.
